On 15th August, 2020, when India was celebrating Independence day, Dhoni took to Instagram to announce his retirment, sending ripples across the cricket fraternity. Although, it was clear that the 39-year-old will continue representing for his franchise.
Karim was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency:“He is very fit and I believe he is working very hard on it. Plus he has stopped playing international cricket so there will be less burden on his body. Global cricket still needs an icon like MS Dhoni to continue.”
