Kohli drops Rahul twice in two overs
However, the score could have been halted if Rahul‘s catch was taken by RCB skipper Virat Kohli.
Rahul had not completed his century and there were still about a couple of overs remaining when he flicked a shot on to the leg side boundary. The ball went high up in the sky. Virat was in a perfect position to pouch it but couldn’t get hold of it. His expression also suggested that the ball got lost in the night sky.
Floodlights at Dubai international stadium has come under criticism with players missing high catches.
However, that was not it, as Rahul tried to go for the cleaners in the next over on a Navdeep Saini slower delivery but could not get hold of it. The ball was in the air at long-off but Virat missed another one. His expression showed he was clearly disappointed with himself.
Kohli, who sets high standards for himself and his team, rarely miss catches. And the misses today against Punjab must have come as a surprise for everyone.
