IPL 2020 KXIP vs SRH: Kings XI Punjab defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs in a low scoring thriller

A must-win game for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Dream11 IPL 2020 was going in their way until Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) bowlers made an incredible comeback. SRH lost the game by 12 runs as KXIP successfully defended the lowest total in the tournament.
SRH won the toss and allowed KXIP to bat first. KXIP failed to score big and were able to post just 126 runs batting first. But a wonderful effort by KXIP bowlers meant another close finish in IPL 2020. The game was eventually won by KXIP by 12 runs as SRH were 114/10 in 19.5 overs.
This is the fourth win on the bounce for KXIP who are now in the fifth position with 5 wins and 6 losses. SRH however are in 6th place with 4 wins and 7 losses in IPL 2020.
SRH fall after a good start
David Warner and Jonny Bairstow who have provided a good start for SRH in the tournament once again turned up and notched 56 runs in just six overs. Ravi Bishnoi got the breakthrough wicket of David Warner for KXIP. SRH were 56/1 after David Warner’s wicket in the 7th over. SRH start it looked like they would easily cruise past KXIP’s target.
However, an incredible turnaround by KXIP bowlers including Chris Jordan and youngster Arshdeep Singh kept KXIP in the game. Defending the low target of 127 runs, KXIP bowlers kept their nerves and took the game till the final over. In the final over 14 runs were required as Arshdeep Singh was given the big responsibility. He took wickets of Priyam Garg and Sandeep Sharma bowling the slower ones and disguising the batsmen. Consequently, SRH lost the match by 12 runs.
Ravi Bishnoi bowled a wonderful spell of four overs conceding just 13 runs and picking up the most crucial wicket of David Warner. Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets for 23 runs while Chris Jordan got 3 wickets for 17 runs. Ashwin and Shami also took one wicket each.

KXIP manage 126/7 in 20 overs
KL Rahul and company have been the high scoring team in the Dream11 IPL 2020. However this time it turned out to be different as SRH bowlers tightened the grip on KXIP batters. KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh started proceedings for KXIP after being allowed to bat first. Both the openers played some good stokes in the early overs. Mandeep became the 100th scalp of Sandeep Sharma in IPL as he was caught by Rashid Khan.
Chris Gayle played a short cameo of 20 runs in 20 balls with two boundaries. Rahul looked in good touch but misread Rashid Khan’s googly and was clean bowled on 27 runs. KXIP were 66/3 after the halfway mark with Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell on the crease.
However, Maxwell departed after scoring 12 runs and the lower order of KXIP followed quickly. Deepak Hooda went for a duck, while Chris Jordan and M Ashwin made 7 and 4 runs respectively. Pooran managed to guide KXIP to 126/7 after batting till the last over. He made 32 runs from 28 balls.
Sandeep Sharma, Rashid Khan, and Jason Holder took two wickets each for SRH while Khaleel Ahmad and T Natarajan remained wicketless for 31 and 23 runs respectively.
