A deleted tweet from Mumbai Indians (MI) has provoked controversy on social media. Mumbai faced Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 on Sunday. Fans have come up with specific fixing allegations in the IPL 2020 after the tweet.

Delhi Capitals decided to bat first after winning the toss. Ajinkya Rahane came to bat at No. 3 after their star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has injured his leg in the previous match. While Alex Carey replaced Shimron Hetmyer. Delhi Capitals scored 162 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs.

A tweet provokes fixing allegation

Chasing the 163-run target, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav scored half-centuries as Mumbai Indians topped the table. But something wired happened before the start of the match. As all the franchise and players, including Mumbai Indians, have been quite active on social media during the tournament to engage with fans.

On Sunday, MI official Twitter handle came up with a tweet which has provoked fixing allegations in IPL 2020. The Mumbai based franchise posted a tweet within few minutes of the game which surprised many fans. The tweet stated that Delhi will score 163/5 in their innings and shockingly the franchise finished at 162/4.

The tweet is deleted now and it’s nowhere to found on the internet. Meanwhile, fans are very quick to take a screenshot and posted it on social media. BCCI haven’t made any comment yet but they might have to answer on behalf of the controversy.
