There is no dearth of star players in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side with Virat Kohli as captain and legends like AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn in their line-up and yet the team has failed to win the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL) title.

Besides, the star-studded team haven’t even made it to the playoffs in the last three seasons. And this has led to online trolling for their below-par performances in the league.

RCB, yesterday, desperately wanted to start the tournament on a good note. And even before the match was about to commence, online trolls were engaging the social networking sides, taking a dig at RCB’s performance over the years.

But RCB had a different idea in mind. They took the game away from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who were looking comfortable at one point with Jonny Bairstow on the crease. Yuzvendra Chahal made all the difference, picking up two consecutive wickets of Bairstow and Vijay Shankar.

SRH fell just 10 runs short and lost out to RCB in its first match.

Memes and trolls are not new to Royal Challengers Bangalore

Following RCB’s victory over SRH, there were counter memes, calling out RCB haters. While there were others who expressed shock at RCB’s victory yesterday.
