IPL 2020 MI vs RCB: Virat Kohli becomes Jasprit Bumrah’s 1st and 100th wicket in IPL career
Jasprit Bumrah took his landmark 100th wicket in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career. Virat Kohli was the first wicket of Bumrah in the year 2013 and now is his 100th scalp in IPL 2020.
Bumrah dismissed his captain in the Indian team, Virat Kohli, with a well-directed short ball. Virat Kohli decided to play a pull shot but couldn’t time the ball well as Saurabh Tiwary ran backward and took the catch.
A young Jasprit Bumrah made his debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2013 season and picked his very first wicket of Virat Kohli. Now seven years later Bumrah took Virat’s wicket again for his 100th IPL wicket. He has achieved this milestone after 89 games in IPL.
Bowlers help MI reduce RCB to 164 runs
Bumrah took 3 wickets in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore and conceded just 14 runs. His bowling figures were 4-1-14-1 at the end of RCB innings.
Devdutt Padikkal was in good touch as he made 74 runs knock after being caught by Boult on Bumrah’s delivery. Josh Phillipe was given the chance in the RCB team in place of Aaron Finch. He looked comfortable and made 33 runs alongside Padikkal.
Ab de Villiers also could not add much to RCB’s score and got out for 15 runs. The lower order for RCB tried to get the runs in the final overs but were overshadowed by Mumbai Indians bowling performance. RCB finished on 164/6 after 20 overs.
