Mumbai Indians(MI) showed why they are the most successful team in the IPL, after defending  200 plus runs at Sharjah. MI defeated SRH by 34 runs as yet another team wins after battling first in IPL 2020.

SRH chasing MI’s 209 run target looked set to bring another 200 plus run-chase at Sharjah in IPL 2020. However, a batting collapse meant SRH remained 38 runs short and made 174/7 in 20 overs.

SRH skipper David Warner and Kane Williamson were on the crease after 109/2 at one stage. Post that MI bowlers tightened the grip after picking up 5 wickets without conceding big runs. Warner was the best performer for SRH who made a calm and composed 60 runs. Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey tried to pick up the chase but didn’t add much to the SRH innings.

Youngster from Jammu and Kashmir, Abdul Samad tried a few big hits for the SRH but it turned out to be too late.

Trent Boult, James Pattinson, and Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets each. However, Bumrah went for 41 runs while Boult and Pattinson conceded 28,29 runs respectively.

Mumbai Indians made 208/5 after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Quinton De Kock top-scored for the Mumbai Indians after skipper Rohit Sharma collapsed early in the innings. De Kock made 67 runs off 39 balls and tried to build a partnership with Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.

Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard kept the runs flowing for MI in the death overs after Kishan and de Kock went back to the pavilion. In the last over, Krunal Pandya notched up 20 runs in just four balls with a massive strike rate of 500.

SRH bowling lineup didn’t look as impressive with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar missing out due to injury sustained in the last game.  T Natrajan was the only one economical with 29 runs in his four-over. Sandeep Sharma and Siddarth Kaul took 2 wickets apiece but went for 41 and 65 runs respectively.

Mumbai Indians with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad have now won their third game of IPL 2020 in five matches played. Whereas Sunrisers have won two and lost 3 in as many games.

MI will next face Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. SRH will travel to Dubai to face Kings XI Punjab on Thursday.
