Mumbai Indians are all set to appear in their sixth Indian Premier League final as they chase a record fifth league title. The Rohit Sharma led side take on Delhi Capitals in the final game today at Dubai. It is a big game for the Capitals too as the young side features in the franchise’s maiden IPL final.

On the eve of the big game, former MI skipper Sachin Tendulkar shared an inspirational message for the defending champions. Tendulkar lauded the franchise for it’s surreal bonding as he urged the players to face every challenge with a smile. The Indian maestro was part of the MI squad which lifted their first IPL trophy back in 2013.

“The first and most important thing. It’s one family. We all stay together through ups and downs. In sport or generally in life, there are going to be challengers. There are going to be a number of speed-breakers along the way especially in this tournament, where it moves at a phenomenal pace,” Tendulkar said.

“It’s important that everyone stays together as a tight unit. We’ve been able to do that,” he added.

An entire force is with you

In a video shared by Mumbai’s Twitter handle, Tendulkar asked the players to go out and give their best not only for themselves but for the whole contingent. The master blaster pointed out how the support staff has been working from behind the curtain to help the side succeed in the league.

“When you know that right from the owners to our support staff, everyone is backing you… When you go out to play for Mumbai Indians, it’s not just you. An entire force is with you. They are looking to push you, to bring the best out of you and do everything possible to help you stay at that level, to perform,” he said.

MI have beaten DC on all three occasions the side s met in the league prior to the summit clash. Mumbai decimated DC by 57 runs in the first qualifier to make it to the finals. On the other hand, the Capitals would also be fancying their chances on the back of convincing victory of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier.
