Mumbai Indians (MI) secured an emphatic victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) to make their way to the Indian Premier League final. DC were defeated by a whopping margin of 57 runs and will have a lot of thinking to do ahead of their Qualifier-2 match.
Winning the toss and choosing to field first, DC got off to a great start as Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck by Ravichandran Ashwin. However, Quinton de Kock continued to accelerate. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan scored explosive half-centuries for their side. Hardik Pandya was excellent at the death as MI reached 200 runs.
In the chase, DC started off in terrible fashion as they lost their top 3 batsmen, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane for ducks. Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah breathed fire for MI and ripped through the DC batting line-up. Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel offered some resistance to take DC to a respectable total of 143 runs.
