Royal Challengers Bangalore won on the final ball of super-over after Navdeep Saini’s brilliant over. Jasprit Bumrah for Mumbai Indians tried his best to defend 7 runs in the super-over but Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers held thier nerves to take RCB to another victory in IPL 2020.

Earlier big-hitters Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya came onto bat for the  Mumbai Indians. A stellar display from Navdeep Saini in the super-over reduced Mumbai Indian for just 7 runs. The lone boundary for MI was hit by Pollard on the 4th ball.

Kieron Pollard and Ishan Kishan were the architects of the Mumbai Indians innings as the duo power MI to a super-over in IPL 2020.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and allowed RCB to bat first. Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a difficult target of 202 runs for the Mumbai Indians in the first innings. AB Devilliers played the important knock as RCB scored 201/3 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians started poorly and were reduced to 16- 2 in the third over. Youngster Ishan Kishan played a match-defining knock after losing Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav cheaply. Kishan unfortunately was dismissed for 99 runs in the final over of the game.

Kieron Pollard smashed a 20 ball half-century and closed the chasing gap for the Mumbai Indians. Pollard along with Kishan added a hundred run partnership for the sixth wicket. With 20 runs required in the final over, Kishan smashed 2 sixes for 12 runs and got out on the next ball. With 5 runs required on the final ball, pollard hit a boundary and the scores were leveled.

Royal Challengers Bangalore openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch gave a solid start with an 86-run partnership. Finch played a quick-fire inning of 52 runs in 35 balls alongside Padikkal who scored his second IPL fifty. Virat Kohli failed to capitalize on the good start put by the RCB openers and fell for just 3 runs.

RCB’s ‘superman’ AB De Villiers took things in his own hands and put on two fifty run partnerships – first with Padikkal and later with Abhishek Dube. De Villiers and Dube made sure RCB’s score climb up to 201/3 in 20 overs. Dube played a well-constructed cameo inning and added 27 important runs.

Mumbai Indians bowlers including Jasprit Bumrah and James Pattinson turned out to be expensive. Trent boult took two wickets for 34 runs and Rahul Chahar picked Kohli’s wicket and conceded 31 runs.
