IPL 2020 : Reports suggest Rohit Sharma’s injury might rule him out, trouble for Mumbai Indians

MI skipper Rohit Sharma

Table-toppers Mumbai Indians missed skipper Rohit Sharma as Rajasthan Royals won against them by 8 wickets last night. MI failed to defend a huge total of 194 as Ben Stokes’ ton powered RR to a comfortable win. Rohit has missed MI’s last two games due to an injury in the left hamstring he picked up in the double super over game against KXIP.
Reports suggest that the Mumbai opener might be ruled out of the rest of the tournament given India’s tour Down Under follows immediately after the IPL. This doesnt leave Rohit with much time to recover as the Indian squad takes off for Australia in late November.
Rohit is doing really well and will recover from injury in time: Quinton de Kock

Rohit’s opening partner in IPL 2020, Quinton de Kock shared that he is recovering fast but it is not yet clear when he will be back to lead the side. Rohit was also seen having a swing in the nets the other night before the RR game.
“He’s doing really well, seen him getting back into the swing of things, don’t ask me when he’s going to be ready because I have no clue about. Looks like he’s doing really well and having a speedy recovery,” said the Proteas keeper.
Rohit had suffered a similar injury during the New Zealand series earlier this year. It was a calf injury which ruled him out for three months the last time.
It is only reasonable that Rohit pulls out of the IPL keeping in mind the Australia tour. As nothing is clear yet about the extent of the injury, one can’t help but hope that he is up and running for the tour Down Under. BCCI might release the squad for the Australia tour today.
