Delhi Capitals (DC) injury troubles continue with Rishabh Pant is the latest addition to the injury list. Pant missed the last game versus Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 and was reported with a hamstring pull.

It is now being reported that the injury is much more severe than a hamstring pull. Pant has suffered from Grade- 1 tear and is likely to miss more than two games for the Delhi Capitals.

A DC team official on the condition of anonymity told ANI, “He has a Grade 1 tear and it is not just a hamstring pull as was believed to be. He is under observation and we are hoping he gets fit quickly.

After the match with Mumbai Indians, DC skipper  Shreyas Iyer had suggested that he wasn’t sure about Pant’s injury and he needed to rest at least for a week. Pant was seen limping in the game against Rajasthan Royals when he took the catch of Varun Aaron to defeat RR by 46 runs. The injury happened when Pant tried to stop a quick single towards mid-wicket earlier in the innings.

DC’s injury woes in IPL 2020

Earlier DC announced that pacer Ishant Sharma will miss out on Dream11 IPL 2020 due to the muscle tear suffered on his left rib.

The pacer experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on October 7 in Dubai. Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear,” DC informed about Ishant’s injury through a press release.

Recently leg-spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out of the tournament with a finger injury suffered during the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Ravichandran Ashwin also suffered a shoulder injury in DC’s opening game of the tournament. However, the injury was not serious and Ashwin returned to the side post-recovery.
