IPL 2020: Royal Challengers Bangalore to pay tribute to the real challengers by donning ‘My COVID Heroes’ jerseys

Throughout the 13th season of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be donning jerseys with ‘My COVID Heroes’ written at the back. RCB will wear these jerseys to pay tribute to the real warriors who battle against the Novel Coronavirus.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will also be supporting GiveIndia Foundation. All the jerseys of the RCB players will go on an auction after their 1st match. The money collected through the auction will be donated to the foundation.

Royal Challengers Bangalore to stand by frontline warriors

Throughout the IPL 2020 RCB players would be wearing ‘ My COVID Heroes’ jerseys. They will wear the jerseys to inspire all RCB fans to join them in paying tribute to the frontline warriors. RCB had a special launch event for the ‘COVID Heroes’ jersey.

In the event, Sanjeev Churiwala the Chairman of RCB said, “Royal Challengers Bangalore has always stood for playing bold in the face of adversities, and we believe that right now these Covid Heroes are embodying this purpose by relentlessly fighting for the greater good. Humanity is going to be grateful to them for many generations to come and through this campaign, we wanted to be among the first to pay tribute to their challenger spirit both on and off the field.”

During the event RCB players Virat Kohli, Parthiv Patel and Devdutt Paddikal interacted with the Real Challengers. Hetika Shah, Simranjeet Singh and Zeeshan Javid shared their experience with the RCB players. All three warriors have worked hard during these testing times and have helped thousands of warriors.

During the event Kohli said, “In the past few months, whenever I heard the stories of the Covid Heroes it has given me literal goosebumps. These real challengers have made the country proud and inspired all of us to be more persistent and dedicated to our efforts to build a better tomorrow. I am truly proud to wear RCB’s “My Covid Heroes” jersey as a sign of solidarity and gratitude to everyone who is right now going the extra mile to support the community at large.”
