IPL 2020 RR vs RCB: Mr. 360 AB de Villiers pulls an RCB win from the jaws of defeat as RCB beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bounced back in IPL 2020 after a loss versus KXIP to defeat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 7 wickets in Dubai. AB de Villiers once again showed his class and pulled a victory for RCB in the final over of the match.
RCB were chasing 178 runs target set by Rajasthan Royals. At once stage RCB were lagging behind and the required run rate climbing up. 35 runs were required in the last two overs when Mr. 360 ABD stepped up and smashed a hat-trick of sixes in the first three balls. ABD along with Gurkeerat Singh Mann scored 26 runs off Jaydev Unadkat’s over to bring down the gap to just 10 runs. De Villiers hit the winning sixer in the final over to Jofra Archer and RCB triumphed over RR once again in IPL 2020.

Kohli-Padikkal crucial partnership in RCB run-chase
RR contained the RCB batting lineup with accurate lines and lengths and precise slower ones. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal struggled to hit big runs for RCB and the chase became more and more difficult. The game looked even more difficult for RR when Tewatia took a stunning juggling catch on the boundary ropes to dismiss Virat Kohli off Karthik Tyagi delivery. The duo added 73 runs to the RCB innings.
However, ABD stepped in next at number four once again and turned out to be a gamechanger for RCB.ABD made 55 runs from 22 balls, smashing 6 sixes and 1 four at the Dubai International Stadium. Virat Kohli made 43 runs in 32 balls while Padikkal and Mann played the supportive part with 35 and 19 runs innings respectively. Unadkat and Archer were expensive for RR while Tyagi, Gopal, and Tewatia picked one wicket each.
Smith leads the charge for RR
Steven Smith won the toss and RR decided to bat first in Dubai with another new opening combination of Robin Uthappa and Ben Stokes. Stokes could only make 15 runs in the 50 run partnership as Chris Morris broke the stand in the 6th over. Uthappa played a quickfire 41 runs knock but was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal soon after. Chahal picked up the wicket of Sanju Samson on the very next ball and RR were reduced to 69/3 within 8 overs.
RR skipper Steven Smith then joined hands with Jos Buttler and Rahul Tewatia to make RR scorecard ticking. Smith made a valuable 57 runs off 36 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. Buttler made 24 runs in 24 balls while Tewatia made 19 runs in 11 deliveries. RR made 177/6 after 20 overs.
Chris Morris proved handy once again for RCB after picking four wickets in his four overs spell. He ended with 4-0-26-4 at the end of the match. Chahal picked two wickets for 34 while no other RCB bowler could not pick up wickets.
With this win, RCB have won 6 and lost 3 games in IPL 2020 and are in the 3rd position in IPL 2020 points table. RR on the other hand will have to win all of their next 5 games to book a place in the playoffs. RR have won 3 and lost 6 games in the tournament.
