IPL 2020: Twitter reacts as AB de Villiers pulls off a stunning run-chase for RCB against RR
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) AB de Villiers pulled off a stunning chase for his side in their Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Coming in to bat in the 13th over at his preferred No. 4 position, de Villiers started striking from the word ‘go’ to take his side home.
Earlier, RR won the toss and chose to bat first. They got off to a fluent start thanks to Robin Uthappa’s 41 at the top of the order. Captain Steve Smith then struck a well-made half century to take his side to a competitive total of 177. In the chase, RCB lost Aaron Finch early but Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal stitched together a good partnership. They then perished in quick succession leaving AB de Villiers and Gurkeerat Singh Mann with a lot of work to do.
It was then the ABD show as the South African hit the ball all around the park to take his side home. He took a special liking to Jaydev Unadkat and hit three sixes off his 19th over. He then finished off the match with a six off Jofra Archer.
