Watson predicted CSK’s result before the game!

Three-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings made a superb comeback in the 13th edition of the tournament. The MS Dhoni-led side registered an emphatic victory over Kings XI Punjab without losing any wicket. CSK openers Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis dominated the game with their respective knocks of 83* and 87* runs.

The Aussie batsman did a Jofra Archer (famous for his accurate prediction tweets) with his tweet right before the game. The right-hander told his fans that the ‘perfect game’ for CSK is coming in their clash against Punjab. 

Quoting another Twitter user’s message, Watson wrote: “The perfect game for @ChennaiIPL is coming!!!

CSK roared once again

CSK opners remained unbeaten against KXIP

The Chennai-based franchise had failed to live up to the expectations so far in this tournament. With just a single victory out of four matches, MS Dhoni and co. held the last spot of the Points Table. But with a scintillating victory in this encounter, CSK openers provided their team with a much-needed boost in their Net Run Rate. Currently, they occupy the sixth position of the chart.

Shane Watson’s performance had also been unimpressive so far in this tournament. The 39-year old got out after scoring just four runs on his maiden game of this season against Mumbai Indians. His following three innings against Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad saw scores of 33 and 14 and 1 respectively. Moreover, CSK ended up losing all three games while chasing.

Watson’s knock of 83* runs in just 53 deliveries will give his team the confidence for their season ahead. CSK will now serve a two-day rest before they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next clash at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
