IPL 2020 : Tim Seifert to join KKR replacing injured Ali Khan
Tim Seifert
The first American to land an IPL deal, Ali Khan has been ruled out of IPL 2020. The pacer was suffering from a side strain which he picked up in CPL and no has been ruled out of the league. New Zealand keeper Tim Seifert will be replacing him according to a Stuff.co.nz report. Seifert is well known for his 84 off 43 against India last year.
Seifert was part of the CPLchampions side, Trinbago Knight Riders, who are a sister franchise of the KKR. As both sides have same coaching staff, it will be easy for the Kiwi lad to settle in.
A great addition to struggling KKR
Seifert, who plays down the order for the Kiwis, has 1775 runs under his belt from 95 T20s. Although he went unsold in the auction, Seifert might be the perfect player KKR needs. Dinesh Kartik has been struggling with his form lately with just 112 runs in 8 innings. And the team management might be looking to try different combination here.
Moreover, Seifert will provide the firepower late in the innings, something Andre Russell has failed to do this season. This will relieve Eoin Morgan from the pressure of finishing the innings.
A wobbly KKR side, with 4 wins and as much loses, face Sunrisers Hyderabad today. They will be looking to hold on the fourth position on the points table as the business end of the cash-rich league approaches.
