Later on, they dismantled CSK’s middle order, giving them an equation of 48 runs from 21 balls with just one wicket remaining to seal the victory. The CSK registered victory, providing the team a perfect comeback after the two-year ban.
1. 2019 IPL Final
This is considered to be one of the greatest matches in IPL history. In the final, Lasith Malinga rose to the occassion to hand Mumbai Indians their fourth IPL title.
Both the batting sides underperformed. With Shane Watson running away with the game, the MI bowlers fought back to bring the equation down to 9 runs needed off the last over.
It came down to the last ball where Chennai Super Kings needed 2 to win off the last ball. Malinga, who conceded 42 runs before the last over, turned up one final time and bowled an inch-perfect yorker to Thakur and won MI the trophy.
Mumbai will take on Chennai tonight in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
