Royal Challengers Bangalore have always banked on their star studded batting line over the years. While a number of prominent faces have donned the Red and Gold jersey, two shinning stars who are RCB’s batting mainstays for ages now are Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
Kohli and de Villiers’s camaraderie is not restricted only within the cricket grounds. Plying their trade together for the Challengers since 2011, the duo share an delightful friendship which has helped them achieve unprecedented results between the 22 yards. The pair have enjoyed some breathtaking moments, which included the classy 229-run partnership against Gujarat Lions in 2016. They have also stitched numerous century stands in the IPL across the years and are truly a delight to watch for the fans.
The mutual love and respect the pair have for each other is not new and Kohli has re-iterated the point with a friendship post on twitter for his partner in crime.
Kohli’s and pacers’ form a concern for RCB
ABD has already shown glimpses of brilliance with a couple of big hitting knocks. However, Kohli is yet to get in the groove even after three games. The RCB skipper had a poor outing so far, despite his team winning two matches.
Kohli’s form is of immense significance for RCB, who already have a lot to worry in the bowling department too. Zampa’s inclusion has reduced Chahal’s burden, but the pacers’ leaking runs will ponder the RCB thinktank to make further changes in the coming matches.
Steyn and Umesh’s removal did not bring much luck as their replacements, Udana and Saini were too taken to the cleaners against Mumbai Indians.
