IPL 2020 : “We are still very happy, very clear,” Bumrah on blowback after RR debacle
Mumbai Indians

With only win away from sealing a playoff spot, Mumbai Indians were blown away by Rajasthan Royals in their last game. Chasing a massive 195, RR completely demolished the MI bowling attack as they cruised home with 8 wickets in hand after Ben Stoke’s terrific ton. Such a huge defeat could unsettle any side but not MI.

MI pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah shared that the side is pretty happy and clear. Bumrah adds that they are not looking to change anything drastically. The Indian pacer admits that the opponent was better than them on the day and they should put the loss behind them.

We are still very happy, we are still very clear and we have nothing that we have to change drastically, it is just that on one day the opposition played better than you, you have to just say well played and move forward,” TOI quoted Bumrah.

We have got good bowlers this year. Trent Boult, James Pattinson, even (Nathan) Coulter-Nile, so it is always been very good to bowl with them, we discuss a lot of things,” Bumrah added.

You have to be very proactive, smart

Jasprit Bumrah

The star death bowler shares that there many factors, like the wicket or the boundary sizes, that comes into play when bowling in the death or in the super over. According to Bumrah the real trick of succeeding in super overs is to be proactive and elude the batsman.

It depends on different people how they treat it, but for me I just try to keep things simple, try to assess the wicket, situation, the boundary sizes and all of that and then choose my options.

It’s very difficult to just say oh you should bowl yorkers, you should just bowl slower ones, you have to be very proactive, smart with what approach you want to have and what the wicket is helping as well, so all of these things I keep in mind…” added Bumrah.

MI take on RCB tonight to decide the first qualifier of IPL 2020.
