Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Mumbai Indians (MI) were involved in one of the greatest matches in Indian Premier League history. In a first in T20 history, the match went to not one but two Super Overs following two ties. KXIP co-owner Preity Zinta reacted to the math saying that she had no words to explain her emotions.

Electing to bat first, MI scored 176/6 thanks to brisk knocks from Quinton de Kock, Kieron Pollard and Nathan Coulter-Nile. In the chase, KXIP skipper KL Rahul held fort at one hand as he kept losing partners at the other hand. But he was castled by a Jasprit Bumrah yorker which led to the match getting tied.

In the first Super Over, Bumrah conceded just 5 runs. However, MI couldn’t chase down what looked like an easy target as KXIP’s Mohammad Shami matched Bumrah’s ability with some tight bowling. The match then went to another Super Over where Chris Jordan conceded 11 runs. Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal then chased down the target with two balls to spare to secure a famous victory.

‘So proud of the KXIP boys’ – Preity Zinta

Following the dramatic match, Preity Zinta who was present in the stadium watching the match, conveyed her feelings on the match on her Twitter handle. She shared the official IPL handle’s video of KXIP celebrating the win and captioned it, “Actions speak louder than words as words fail me completely. Two super overs ? OMG ! I’m still shaking. So proud of the #Kxip boys. What a game, what a night, what a feeling Thank you @lionsdenkxip for this supreme team effort Team work at its best.”

The actress will be proud of her team’s efforts to make a comeback in the tournament. They are now placed 6th on the points table. They face Delhi Capitals at Dubai on Tuesday,
