IPL 2021: Twitter reacts as Jos Buttler hits a terrific century against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler came up with a century for the ages to pummel the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi to proper Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a huge score. It was an exhibition of power hitting from the Englishman as the SRH bowling attack known to be one of the best in the tournament came under the pump and looked clueless as to how to stop the opener.

Earlier, SRH had opted to field first as they began life under Kane Williamson who replaced David Warner as captain, with the latter getting dropped as well. Mohammad Nabi was picked in his place while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Abdul Samad also came in. For RR, Anuj Rawat came in for Shivam Dube while Kartik Tyagi was picked instead of Jaydev Unadkat who was rested.

Jos Buttler began his innings in shaky fashion and was in fact, trapped in front early on by Rashid Khan. However, the umpire did not raise the finger and SRH had already wasted a review by then. Once Buttler got going however, there was no stopping him as he put on a fantastic stand with skipper Sanju Samson who offered him good support. After the captain’s wicket, it was Riyan Parag who provided good support.

Buttler then reached his century to soak in the applause before going after the bowlers even after reaching the landmark. In the end, he chopped one on from Sandeep Sharma to get out on 124 runs in 64 balls. Twitter was flooded with messages of praise for the Englishman after his knock. Here are a few such reactions.
