IPL 2022 schedule announced; CSK to play against KKR in season opener

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the upcoming edition of the IPL. Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening encounter of the season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The first match of the season will take place on March 26, while the last league stage game will be played on 22nd May between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The summit clash of the upcoming Indian Premier League edition is slated to take place on 29the May.

The League phase of the IPL will be staged across four venues in Maharashtra, while the schedule & venues for the playoffs will be released later by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The four venues for the league phase is Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and MCA Stadium in Pune.

Mumbai Indians will take on the Chennai Super Kings in Match 33 of the IPL on 21st April. The DY Patil Stadium will host the Indian Premier League encounter between the two consistent sides. Meanwhile, the two new franchises will face each other on 28 March. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the IPL contest between the Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.
