IPL 2022: [Watch] Fans greet CSK as they arrive in Surat for training camp

With every passing season, MS Dhoni has proven why he is one of the greatest cricketers in India. Despite retiring from international cricket, Dhoni’s popularity remains high. The 40-year-old captain is once again to lead the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. With Maharashtra chosen as the host state, CSK decided to begin their training in Surat.

As part of their preparation for the upcoming Indian Premier League(IPL) 2022 season, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad arrived in Surat on Sunday. CSK will take on KKR in the inaugural match of the tournament on March 26. On Sunday, CSK fans witnessed their love for Dhoni and CSK during the team’s arrival in Surat. CSK fans are looking forward to watching the legendary skipper lead the four-time champions.

Fans were seen rousingly welcoming the 2021 IPL champions on the streets of Surat as the team buses arrived at their destination in a video shared by CSK on Social Media. Additionally, MS Dhoni is seen speaking on his phone while walking inside the stadium. The team shared a picture of Dhoni waving to his fans on Sunday with the caption, “The Hi we have been waiting for! Day 1.”.

IPL 2022 scheduled announced on Sunday

Earlier on Sunday, the IPL 2022 schedule was released, and among the finalists from 2021 – CSK and KKR – the opener came as no surprise. In a media release, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced that 70 matches would be played in 65 days. The tournament will feature 12 doubleheaders, on which the first game will be played at 3.30 p.m., and the evening matches will be played at 7.30 p.m.

The first game of the doubleheader will be played on March 27 at the Brabourne Stadium (CCI), with the Delhi Capitals taking on the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.
