“It will be tight”: Charles Leclerc Chooses Lewis Hamilton over Max Verstappen for 2021 Title
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Lecler
The 2021 Formula 1 season has been an exciting one to say the least, with the world of F1 seeing one of the greatest rivalries of all time unfold. Max Verstappen, the current leader in the race, is closely being followed by rival and seven time champion Lewis Hamilton. Currently sitting 8 points ahead, Verstappen will have to give it his all in the last 2 races to get clear of Hamilton and become the World Champion.
Choosing between both drivers is a hard task, as either is capable of walking away with a championship title. When Charles Leclerc was asked his opinion, he went on to say that the title would go down to the wire. Yet, he thinks that eventually Hamilton will overtake Verstappen to win the championship once again.
“I keep changing my mind,” Charles Leclerc on Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen Rivalry
Charles cannot seem to decide who will win the world championship. “I keep changing my mind. I was pretty sure Max will get it until Sao Paulo. Then after Brazil I changed a bit my mind. And now I think probably Lewis is on a good run. But it’s true Max has the points advantage which is what matters. So it’s going to be tight but, if anything, maybe Lewis.” said Leclerc according to f1i, keeping in mind the current point difference.
Ferrari currently sits third in the constructor championships, but are not challenging the drivers championship. Yet, this battle shaping up between Hamilton and Verstappen has been exciting for everyone.
“It’s just very nice to see for the sport,” said the Monegasque. “Also, I mean for myself I don’t see much of that battle because I’m racing at the same time as them, but it’s nice to see the title fight being so close.”
