Cincinnati Bengals were one of the worst teams in the NFL until they drafted Joe Burrow out of LSU. Even though last year didn’t turn out as the Bengals would’ve hoped for due to Burrow’s season-ending injury, he has turned all the criticism around and led Cincinnati to their first Super Bowl since 1988.

The Bengals had a disappointing start to their season but they managed to win towards the second half of the season. Cincinnati has made quite a few last-minute comebacks in the playoffs. Nick Wright on First Things First said the Bengals aren’t a good football team despite reaching the Super Bowl.

“They would’ve lost all of their playoff games if the opponents didn’t play terribly” – Nick Wright on Cincinnati Bengals’ reaching the Super Bowl

“I want to buy it. I’ve tried to be all week supportive of the Bengals. I’ve talked about how Joe Burrow can become the best QB alive with a Super Bowl win. However, over the last 48 hours I’ve dug into this game greatly and come to this conclusion — the Bengals aren’t very good,” Wright said.

“Honestly, could’ve, should’ve probably in a more you know you play it 10 times would’ve lost all of their playoff games. The Raiders played poorly. The Titans played terribly. The Chiefs are rolling them before I don’t know what happened. A ghost came in and inhabited Patrick Mahomes’ body”, Wright said crediting the Bengals’ playoff victories to their opponent’s poor performances.

Wright further pointed out that this Bengals team lost to the NY Jets, Chicago Bears and got annihilated by Cleveland Browns. He thinks that a team that has lost games to some of the worst teams in the NFL is definitely not a Super Bowl winning team.

“This is going to be a bloodbath. I do think this is a fluke. I don’t think the Bengals have a chance. I don’t think they are a very good team. I would be utterly and completely shocked on the level that I’ve not been shocked in a Super Bowl since Eli over the undefeated Patriots if the Bengals were to win this game”, Wright concluded.

It will be proved soon enough if the Bengals reached the Super Bowl by sheer luck or if they were worthy. Los Angeles Rams will await Cincinnati Bengals for Super Bowl LVI at their home ground, the SoFi Stadium on February 13.
