Jake Paul has amassed a lot of haters, particularly in the combat sports community, since he became the poster boy of crossover boxing. Another celebrity from show business whom fans don’t like is rapper Drake, due to the infamous ‘Drake Curse.’
The Canadian rapper has been in a beef with the American rapper Kendrick Lamar. The pair has made amazing progress over the years but have also dissed each other in their works. As such, Jake Paul recently picked a side for a hypothetical boxing matchup between Drake and Lamar.
I've seen Drake got hands and if they wanted to tussle, we would be Team Drake. Train them up crunk style and he would sleep size seven.Jake Paul at the MVP boxing event
Since Paul’s next fight is against an almost 60-year-old Mike Tyson, it won’t be a surprise if he manages to get a Drake vs. Lamar happen. Nonetheless, the Most Valuable Promotions, co-owned by Paul, has shifted away from celebrity boxing, as evidenced by Paul’s recent fights.
Nevertheless, Drake vs. Lamar would create considerable buzz and be a spectacle. After all, Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg, in an MMA fight, was almost a reality. Therefore, Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake is not beyond the realm of possibility.
Team Jake Paul on Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor II
Amanda Serrano is one of the best female boxers in the world, possibly of all time. The Peurto Rican slugger is a 7 division boxing champion, a feat only she has achieved. No other female has won in more than four divisions. However, she rose to fame after signing up with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
Nakisa Bidarian is the co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. Along with Paul, the ex-UFC employee has been instrumental in the growth of the promotion. As such, Bidarian and Paul view the rematch between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor as a monumental clash. For Bidarian, Serrano vs Taylor II would be the biggest fight in women’s combat sports history. In the first fight between the two, Taylor eked past with a split decision victory.
Jake Paul called it the best fight he has ever seen. Moreover, he also felt the judges robbed Serrano of the victory. Furthermore, the fight was the first time two women headlined a boxing PPV at the Madison Square Garden. Interestingly, Eddie Hearn wanted to make Serrano vs. Taylor II at the Las Vegas Sphere, but Dana White shut down that idea.
