The Philadelphia Eagles demolished the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. That domination was a culmination of how Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and their teammates performed throughout the game. They did not result in flashy plays, rather focused on sticking to what works for them.

One of the plays that has worked for them consistently all season long has been the famous ‘tush push’. The play gained recognition last season when the entire offensive line aligned as if to mimic a snow plough.

Their collective strength and the addition of players pushing from behind saw the play become unstoppable. There were calls for the play to be banned as it was evident that no one was being able to stop them.

However, the NFL ignored such calls and allowed the play to continue. During the NFC Championship game, the Washington Commanders managed to stop the ‘tush push’ once. But the Chiefs could not stop it in the 1st quarter of Super Bowl LIX as Jalen Hurts scored to give them the lead.

The result of their famous victory over the favored three-peat targeting Kansas City Chiefs saw the team appear on The Tonight Show. Host Jimmy Fallon asked Hurts and Barkley if they call the play the ‘tush push’. To this Hurts denied it, saying it’s not what they call it. To this the running back added.

I was shocked too, because when I got there, I’d known it as the ‘tush push’. It’s not called the ‘tush push’ actually.

This means, the Philadelphia Eagles likely have another name for their now famous play. Neither of the leading superstars were ready to reveal what it was. It is their best kept secret, and they were not letting the world know what it was.

Saquon Barkley has easiest job in ‘tush push’

Saquon Barkley has only been with the Philadelphia Eagles for one season. In all the twenty games he played for them, he became an integral part of their most famous play. Hearing this Jimmy Fallon asked what his role was in that play.

I think I have the easiest job, to be honest. I’m the one who pushes the tush.

Hearing this, Fallon was sent into splits. He could not control himself on hearing what the record setting running back had just said. The host understood that the name itself is making it sound funny, and then Barkley to work into that just took the lid off.

Whatever the name may be, opponents have found it difficult to stop that play. Retired team leader Jason Kelce mentioned what he went through being at the head of the play. Therefore, it must be taking a toll on them. However, the success makes the effort worth it.
