Jannik Sinner has become one of the biggest talents of the sport in recent years. Several tennis pundits and legends have hailed him as a player to reach the heights of the Big 3 in the future. However, he has admitted that the Big 3’s achievement doesn’t put more pressure on the young generation.
The Big 3 – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, are considered to be the greatest players in the sport. With their excellent display on the court and consistent performances, they have gone on to win a boatload of major titles. Each of them has won over 90 titles in their career, which includes at least 20 Grand Slams.
Sinner and his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz have both dominated the men’s tennis this season. Both have won eleven titles combined including four of the major titles. However, they are far from the consistency that The Big 3’s produced. Despite a great general display this year, the question is whether they will continue with the form for about 15 to 20 years.
Nonetheless, Sinner is not bothered about The Big 3’s achievement compared to what he and Alcaraz have achieved so far. In a recent press conference in Shanghai, he admitted that there’s no pressure on him and the young generation to do what the Big 3 have done.
Jannik Sinner was asked if the Big 3’s achievements put more pressure on him & the young generation, ‘We cannot compare us with them, that's impossible… They have been very consistent for years.. There's not only been 1 or 2 seasons, they made it for 15 years’
