- Jaylen Brown expressed his commitment to the Boston Celtics, stating he could play there for the next 10 years.
- He faced criticism for his comments on officiating after the Celtics' playoff loss to the 76ers.
- Brown described the past season as his favorite, highlighting team growth despite personal performance challenges.
After Jaylen Brown went on his rant about the alleged lopsided officiating in the first round series against the Philadelphia 76ers, he has courted a lot of backlash.
Analysts and former players criticized him for complaining after losing the series, while not doing the same when his Celtics were up 3-1.
When the California Golden Bears alum was pointing to Joel Embiid‘s flopping tendencies, and why officials were allowing that to happen while not giving Brown or his teammates the same leeway.
He alleged that there was an agenda in the works where he felt officials were taking their wrath out on him. However, many pointed out that he, too, was prone to flopping, which makes this opinion hypocritical.
But the 29-year-old was not done and continued to rant about it. This time, not only did fans criticize him with proof, but a former player suggested that maybe Jaylen Brown is frustrated with the Boston Celtics and was expressing himself.
I hate that our president of basketball operations even had to respond to this. Me and Brad have a great relationship. I love Boston. If it was up to me I could play in Boston for the next 10 years.
Jaylen Brown said on his live stream
This was Jaylen Brown responding to rumors that he might be angling to leave the Boston Celtics. Before he took to his live stream, President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens had to answer questions regarding his future with the team.

This was him reiterating that he loves the organization and wants to be there for as long as he can. This statement clarifies those rumors for good.
Jaylen Brown reiterates he had his ‘favorite season’
There is a reason why these conversations about Jaylen Brown being frustrated came up. Before Jayson Tatum returned from his Achilles tendon tear, the guard was an MVP favorite and the de facto leader of the team.

Once his teammate returned, if not immediately, but soon, the focus shifted to where they were sharing the ball equally. Since then, Brown’s numbers dropped, and he slid down the MVP race.
Many alleged that bringing Tatum back was the reason the five-time All-Star lost ground to an award he could have at least fought for until the end. That is why when Brown said that it was his favorite season, many were not convinced.
This was my favorite season of my career… We fought every single day. We fought for everything. I got to see Jayson Tatum come back from an injury, mentally overcome, like what that takes. This is a part of the reason why this was my favorite year. You got to see all of these guys, all of my teammates grow.

The 2024 Finals MVP is taking a holistic approach by talking about how, as a team, they were expected to have a middle-of-the-pack year. But they rose together, and that is what made him say it was his ‘favorite season.’
Jaylen Brown continues to harp on lopsided officiating
After addressing rumors about his recent comments, the Celtics superstar dived into his original rant about the alleged lopsided officiating.
I had to say something. There’s an inconsistency, and it’s there. You called me for all these offensive fouls, and that’s not the reason why we lost, but SGA is about to win his 2nd MVP with the same move.
Jaylen Brown said
Jaylen Brown pointed out how he might be fined again for these comments, but reiterated that he was not using them as an excuse for why they lost.

Rather, he believes that these inconsistencies should be pointed out, as on one hand, he gets called for those fouls, but others do not.
