All eyes are on Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. This season, the team has a renewed sense of energy as there is a cultural shift within the organization, with players looking to put their best foot forward and do their part. Harbaugh comes with a lot of changes, that is no news, however, the head coach has implemented one bizarre rule.

Jim Harbaugh has made it a mandate to strictly remove music during organized team activities to ensure that his players put their best foot forward and go all-in. The head coach believes that this move will emphasize their conditioning and without any noise in the background, it will help them to focus solely on football.

Harbaugh is hoping to bring in mental toughness with this move. Music is without a doubt, a motivating factor for the players, however, in real-life scenarios, when the game is on the line, players do not have any music to motivate them. It is just them and the noises in their head and the chants in the stadium. Harbaugh hopes to make them mentally tough by having them workout without music. As per Bridget Condon of NFL Network, Harbaugh’s decision to remove music from team practices is unusual and new for the franchise.

There was no music. In every other Chargers practice that I've been to before without Jim Harbaugh, they play a lot of music. So that's an interesting note...(There was an) emphasis on conditioning. The last 10 minutes of practice we watched them do sled pulls. They were doing medicine ball carries.

Harbaugh is not limiting himself to just football but has taken the fitness of the players into his hands as well. Here’s how fans reacted to the head coach’s decision to prohibit players from playing music during practices to keep their spirits high:

Jim Harbaugh is bringing in a lot of changes. He is taking a different offensive philosophy with the Chargers as he is not shying away from using Justin Herbert to throw the ball as opposed to his tried and tested strategy of running the ball. The real question remains, will the Chargers be as effective as they are being hyped up to be under Harbaugh? To find that out, fans will have to wait until the season starts.
