Jiri Prochazka has now set his eyes on getting his retribution against Alex Pereira and capturing the light heavyweight title. Last time, the Czech fighter fought Pereira and lost via controversial stoppage. However, things are different after UFC 300.

Prochazka defeated Aleksandar Rakic in a comeback performance of the year candidate. Rakic outstruck the Czech fighter for the most part, but Prochazka turned the tide around with his relentless pressure and durability. During a recent interview with The Schmo, Jiri Prochazka praised Alex Pereira for his performance and also issued a warning about the rematch.

I saw him, saw his performance ... amazing and I have to say, now I’m starting to take it seriously. Because for me, this is something that I want to do, I want to achieve this victory. And when I want something, I will achieve that. So watch me.

It seems like Prochazka has finally regained his focus after challenging Rakic. The trash talk from the Austrian before that fight only motivated Prochazka. As such, he overcame the loss to Pereria and bounced back in a big way against Rakic. His performance earned him a POTN bonus of $300k.

Prochazka has only five UFC bouts but has already accomplished more than most fighters, including winning the light heavyweight belt. An injury derailed his momentum, but his victory at UFC 300 put him right back in the title picture.

With momentum on his side, Prochazka predicted that the rematch against Pereira would not end the same way as the first time. It remains to be seen if the Czech fighter exacts revenge against the dangerous ‘Poatan.’

Jiri Prochazka addresses fake Samurai claims

Going into the UFC 300 light heavyweight bout, the anticipation around Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic was massive. Both Prochazka and Rakic came into the fight after a loss and were looking to return to the win column. Rakic made their bout interesting with some trash talk.

Ahead of the fight, Rakic made some interesting comments about Prochazka being a fake samurai with a made-up persona. Right after knocking out Rakic, Prochazka addressed the fanbase about his connection to the Samurai code.

These talks about me that I'm not samurai. That's true. I'm not a samurai, I'm a guy from Czech Republic but we all needs to live and be inspired by something and these Samurai ideas is something what's inside me.

The fighter revealed that he’s not a samurai but is hugely motivated by their way of life. Moreover, one must note that he never considered or called himself a Samurai. He has praised the Samurai code in the past. However, he never claimed to be one. Rakic used it to trash-talk Prochazka. In the end, Prochazka knocked out Rakic and set the record straight about his connection to the Samurai code.
