The NASCAR Cup Series race two weeks ago at Chicago Street featured some wild moments. One of those was the start of new beef between Joey Logano and Ross Chastain, after the Trackhosue Racing driver spun out the No:22 Chevy in retaliation, mistaking him for the regaining champions’ teammate Austin Cindric.

Joey Logano was furious over the incident and after the race, had a heated confrontation with the No:1 Chevy driver. Then in his media session, the three times Cup Series champion asked NASCAR to fine Ross Chastain, revealing the Busch Light sponsored driver admitted to him that the wreck was intentional.

NASCAR looked into the incident after the drama and decided not to penalize the Chevy driver. This didn’t sit well with the No:22 Team Penske Racing Ford driver, who shared his thoughts on the situation on his recent appearance on the SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. He recalled how the incident was frustrating and intentional, branding himself as an innocent bystander.

It obviously was intentional. He admitted it was intentional, which is obviously very frustrating for me… I was an innocent bystander in the whole thing and I’m the one that gets wiped out.

Joey Logano said via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

He admitted that he is still really pissed about the situation and how everything was handled post-race. The veteran is also disappointed with the sanctioning body, as they didn’t do anything about it. Logano promised payback over the incident and with NASCAR not standing up for him, he might have to walk the talk in the coming races.

I’m obviously very pissed off about it. Upset about the way it was handled post-race from his perspective. Upset that NASCAR didn’t step in and do anything about it.

Joey Logano added.

Joey Logano names the number one race he wants to win

In a separate interview, Joey Logano shared his perspective about the upcoming races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the track that is owned by his boss Roger Penske. It’s one of the few tracks in the schedule he hasn’t won a race at, and he dreams of the day he gets to finally kiss the bricks with the trophy on his side.

That’s the one that definitely stands out to me. That is the number one race on the list to want to win just because it’s Indy. The history. How iconic that speedway is. The dream of kissing the bricks is a real thing. That’s the real thing for me. I would love to be in that position someday. We’ve been close many times.

Joey Logano said.

Anyone that win at Indy, will itch their name in the history books and doing it before boss will be really special for the racer. But more than that it is has been a dream for him to win there and that makes it the number one event he wants to add to his list of accomplishments.

That racetrack holds enough prestige that it doesn’t matter who you are and who you drive for, you want to win that race. You want to go in the history books as an Indianapolis winner in anything, so that one would be special.

Joey Logano added.

The comments from the veteran racer shows how much he respect the history of the venue and how much he wants to be part of that legacy. With the right car and some luck, it won’t take the No:22 Ford team much effort to secure the coveted race win.
