Who better than the ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ to select his Mount Rushmore of rappers in the music industry? John Cena, given his background in hip-hop art, recently revealed his top four ranking of legendary rappers recently. As predicted, the list did indeed feature Eminem.

On the recent Club Shay Shay podcast episode, Shannon Sharpe mentioned the athlete’s rap gimmick. Further, he asked Jon Cena to name four artists he thought would make it to Mount Rushmore. The sixteen-time World Champion didn’t hesitate to rank Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas, and Rakim at the top of his list.

So for me, Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas, and Rakim. Man, Rakim's voice. Everyone has their bias. I know that list is obviously going to incite riots. We all have our bias. We all have our favorites. That's what makes music special.

The WWE superstar went on to explain that he was brought up in the East Coast boom bap and loved all sorts of wordplay and poetry. Cena revealed he even based his characters around that. The rapper character was the one that pushed Cena to the top. His rapper persona resonated well with the audience.

Jon Cena’s WWE career started shifting, and he won the WWE championship in 2005. Soon, the rapping persona took a backseat as the WWE became more PG-oriented. He also released his album named, ‘You Can’t See Me.’ The album gained much success, which justified his popularity as the Doctor of Thuganomics.
