The men’s WarGames lineups for this year’s Survivor Series are close to finalizing. But do John Cena and Roman Reigns count in? While Reigns’ involvement is almost a guarantee, Cena might not make the cut if Dave Meltzer‘s report is to be believed. The journo said during Wrestling Observer Radio that the dream team scenario of Cena and Reigns joining CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso is not happening.

As the fans saw on this week’s Raw, Punk was ready to go to war with The Vision, and so were Rhodes and Uso. WWE legend William Regal made a rare on-screen appearance to confirm a WarGames showdown between the babyfaces and Paul Heyman‘s disciples.

There are three men apiece on both teams at the moment. However, with a couple more weeks to go until showtime, more additions are inevitable. Figuring Reigns as one, it would still leave one spot to fill. If Cena isn’t going to be the one, who could that last man be? Original plans had listed either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight for the cause.

But the latter is looking less likely, considering he’s competing in the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament round one matchup on SmackDown. The only way he could hop on the WarGames team at Survivor Series is if he ends up losing tonight.

Keeping Knight away from this rebellion against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed would be a massive snub. He was feuding with those men for the better part of the summer. But given his booking on the main roster has mostly been subpar, seeing him getting denied a high-profile spot alongside the likes of Reigns, Rhodes, Punk, and Uso shouldn’t be surprising anymore.

Meanwhile, for the heels, Logan Paul has already joined The Vision. They’re expected to be beefed up by the services of Brock Lesnar, too. Moreover, there have been rumblings of Drew McIntyre being the final member for the villainous faction. But he’s reportedly taken off television to film a movie. It’d be interesting to see if the Scot would make it to Survivor Series or not.

Seth Rollins puts over John Cena’s IC title win from Raw

Speaking of John Cena, he scripted history on this week’s Raw by becoming the Intercontinental Champion. He defeated Dominik Mysterio in one of the most entertaining opening stretches to a WWE show in 2025. The 17-time world champion has now received his flowers from not just a great on-screen rival but, even more so, a better real-life friend in Seth Rollins.

On Good Morning Football, ‘The Visionary’ hailed Cena’s triumph that made him achieve the career grand slam in WWE. Dubbing him as one of the all-time greats, Rollins affirmed that one could stack Cena against any of pro wrestling’s Mt. Rushmore choices, like The Rock, Ric Flair, or Hulk Hogan, etc.

‘The Architect’ added that even though he and Cena never got the opportunity to team up together in a televised event, the two of them did link up during a live event in India in 2023, which Rollins raved about. ‘The Revolutionary’ praised the deafening atmosphere they experienced while doing the show in India and judged that crowd as one of the loudest he’s ever been around.

While Rollins wasn’t a name John Cena had a singles match with during his retirement tour that is winding down in a hurry, ‘The Visionary’ still shared a moment with ‘The Cenation Leader’ during the Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia. Rollins’ shenanigans helped Cena take advantage of the chaotic situation and retain the Undisputed WWE title against CM Punk that night.
