UFC 261 is inching closer and closer. The stacked card which features three title fights will be headlined by Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal 2. The pair last met at UFC 251, when Masvidal took the fight on very short notice (just 6 days prior to the fight), but ultimately lost via. unanimous decision.

The UFC 261 pre-fight press conference just came to a conclusion, and it had some interesting bits. Masvidal was asked about the influence of a full house this time, as UFC 261 will be witnessed by a whopping 15000 fans at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. He revealed that he got his fanbase because of the violence he brings to the octagon and added that he would be handing it to them in a platter, come the 24th of April.

Masvidal was quoted as saying, “It will be huge. These guys want violence. They don’t cheer for me because I’m so good looking, or the food that I eat or nothing. That’s not why they cheer for me. They cheer for me because I give everybody their hard earned money. I come in here to perform and bring the violence that they crave. Usman is coming off a victory against Gilbert Burns, who he was supposed to face at UFC 251. He devastated his former teammate and sparring partner via TKO at UFC 258 to successfully defend his welterweight title and go past Georges St-Pierre’s record for the most consecutive wins in the UFC’s welterweight division.

Masvidal, this time is coming off a full training camp. He blamed it as the primary reason, besides instantaneous weight cut, for his loss last time. He has vowed to put in a violent show, as he has been hinting at a violent end for the Nigerian Nightmare this time around.
