Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway have geared up to give fans a deserving BMF title fight at UFC 300. Going into the fight, both fighters have shown incredible mutual respect, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t thought about destroying each other. Gaethje recently spoke with MMA Junkie and talked about his opponent.
Justin Gaethje mentioned that he respected Holloway but would like to seriously harm the fighter. The ‘Highlight’ talked about dishing out plenty of damage to Max Holloway rather than easily winning via finish. One could say the spirit of the impending battle has taken over Gaethje.
If I can cut his eye, break his arm, cause him to not be able to walk anymore, that sounds like an ideal situation for me rather than putting him to sleep.Justin Gaethje via MMA Junkie
At the pre-fight press conference, both Holloway and Gaethje got massive cheers from the fight fans. Gaethje labeled Holloway as a future UFC Hall of Famer and mentioned that sharing the octagon with him is an honor. Similarly, the ‘Blessed’ has put on some weight and is excited to drop a memorable performance for the fans and take home the BMF title.
The last time the Hawaiian fought at lightweight, he and Dustin Poirier provided fans with a brutal and action-packed bout. The fighter would like to replicate something like that this Saturday. More importantly, the Hawaain superstar wants to walk out as the winner. However, Gaethje plans to make Holloway go 0-2 in the lightweight division.
Dana White gives the green light to Mark Coleman to present the BMF title for Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway
After the BMF fight was announced, Max Holloway stated that the title should be presented by someone revered in the MMA community. Holloway suggested that UFC legend Mark Coleman was the ideal candidate to present the BMF championship to the victor of the UFC 300 matchup.
During the UFC 300 press conference, a reporter asked Dana White about the possibility of Coleman presenting the title. The UFC CEO agreed to make it happen. White did not hesitate to make the decision on the spot. One could assume the UFC invited Coleman to the UFC 300 event with presenting the BMF title in mind.
White was in a great mood and even made the statement that the UFC fight bonus would be increased to $300k for UFC 300. These decisions have set UFC 300 to become an all-time great event and hopefully leave the MMA fanbase with everlasting memories.
