“How much more we gotta lose?” Karl Anthony-Towns and Anthony Edwards leave media in splits with hilarious answer
Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns showed their witty selves after the win against the Nuggets.
Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards
The Minnesota Timberwolves made history with a 15-point halftime comeback against the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, in Game 7 of the second round of the 2024 playoffs. They won 98-90 and marked the largest turnaround in a Game 7 in NBA playoff history.
In a post-game interview, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns were asked if they had lost “big” enough to finally upset the defending champions. Edwards, in his usual self, then responded with a witty remark.
"We lost last year. It's the playoffs. We lost last year," Karl-Anthony Towns said"We lost the last two years, sh*t," Anthony Edwards then responded:"God damn, how much more we gotta lose?" Karl-Anthony Towns then asked:"How much you want us to lose?" Edwards said"We've been losing for 20 years," Karl-Anthony Towns said"I mean, that's the truth, dawg," Anthony Edwards saidKarl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards said in the postgame press conference
Ant Man and Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves to victory. Edwards had a remarkable second half, as he finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, while KAT had 23 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists.
Furthermore, the Timberwolves’ historic comeback now sets them up for a thrilling matchup in the next round of the playoffs, the Western Conference finals against the Dallas Mavericks. With Edwards and Towns leading the charge, they’re looking strong and determined to make a deep run.
Anthony Edwards calls out Jamal Murray
Anthony Edwards got his revenge on Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in Game 7. Murray had talked trash to the Timberwolves at a bar after Denver’s first-round win over Minnesota back in 2023. Any Man had then promised they’d be back and “fully loaded” next time.
He was talking s***. He was telling Mike [Conley], 'I'm sick of you, you can't guard me,' and all that. I told him, 'We'll be back. You'll see us again when we're fully loaded.Anthony Edwards said
Furthermore, the T-Wolves had stormed back from a 20-point deficit to shock the defending champs. Murray scored 35 points, but unfortunately, the Denver supporting cast struggled.
The Timberwolves’ win, however, sends them to their first conference finals in 20 years, where they’ll face the Dallas Mavericks. Edwards praised his team’s defensive effort, and the Timberwolves’ team-wide effort and determination proved too much for the Nuggets.
