Natalie Decker had the worst moment of her racing career last week at Dover, when she rage quit the Dover Truck Serie race. The female racer had a meltdown on team radio after an early race penalty and getting black flagged for being slow. The incident has split the NASCAR community with some showing her sympathy while held her accountable.
Ex-racer Kenny Wallace recently shared her thoughts on the incident and shared his thoughts on how the racer can bounce back. He told racer to race more on short track and lower division events, work hard behind the scene to earn the respect of the garage. She needs to work extra hard behind the scene to reduce the experience gap she has with other drivers in the lower divisions of NASCAR.
I want to see her go in gangster mode. I want to see her get an asphalt short track car. And I want to see her sweating her ass off racing every single weekend at Hickory, Tri County, South Boston. I don’t care where it’s at, but I want to see her racing a lot.

Natalie Decker’s drama was more personal for Kenny Wallace, as he went through a similar experience as a girl dad when his daughters were racing. His daughter Brandy Wallace, who was a promising talent, stopped racing after getting spun by a 40-year racer and he understood the mental toughness those moments demand to move on.
I’ve been down this road before. … I’m a girl dad, so I can talk about this all I want. And then all of a sudden some 40-year-old man spun her out. … She just wouldn’t get up to speed. I said, ‘What’s wrong?’ She goes, ‘Dad, I don’t want to do this anymore.’

Kenny Wallace slams Natalie Decker’s management team
Later in the same conversation Kenny Wallace called out Decker’s race management team and highlighted how flowed their scheduling have been. He pointed out that instead of racing in handful of events, upcoming female racers should explore more of the lower divisions and grind out results like majority of their male counter parts.

Who in the hell is picking her schedule? You cannot go to Watkins Glen, and you cannot go to Dover. As a father figure looking at these young girls [in NASCAR], I want to see Natalie running Hickory [Motor Speedway] and Tri-County [Speedway] every week. I want to see her grinding.
Kenny Wallace said.
Despite being 28-years, Decker was clearly one of the less experienced racers last Friday at Dover and that a major issue that needs to addressed. Racing once in couple months would never help a racer to evolve, especially when the rest of garage is consistently evolving.
I don’t want Natalie racing once every two months. I want her at Bowman Gray. I want her running a dirt race. I want her family to create this schedule that’s just racing, racing, racing.
Kenny Wallace added.
The comments from the veteran are on point and shows how much he cares about the female racers that are fighting hard to make a name for themselves in NASCAR. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the coming months amidst the controversy.
