When news of Kevin Durant‘s arrival at the Phoenix Suns broke out, the NBA community was shaken up. The thought of Durant with a fellow offensive juggernaut Devin Booker evoked fear in the Western Conference. The addition of Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal made them worthy title contenders for the 2023-2024 NBA season.

However, the Phoenix Suns didn’t have an outstanding performance in the regular season. Even though they finished the season in the 6th spot, they did not have enough firepower to crack the top teams. Moreover, the Minnesota Timberwolves swept them in the first round of the playoffs. Now, news broke out of Durant’s issues with Booker and Beal, reported by Shams Charania of the Athletic.

Those sources said [Kevin Durant] Durant had persistent issues with the offense, feeling that he was being relegated to the corner far too often and not having the proper designs to play to his strengths as the offense was built around pick-and-rolls.

Many consider Durant the best offensive player to ever compete in the NBA. Some even consider KD as the 7-foot version of Stephen Curry. As such, teams often played to Durant’s offensive strengths when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, and the Brooklyn Nets.

At OKC, Russel Westbrook played second fiddle to Durant. Similar was the case for Stephen Curry at Golden State. Moreover, Kyrie Irving and James Harden had to do the same with the Nets. Nonetheless, it appears Bradley Beal and Devin Booker didn’t do the same.

Kevin Durant has more accomplishments than his teammates Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. However, Booker and Beal are relatively younger than Durant. As such, it’s not a surprise a coach would like to build the team around Booker and Beal.

However, reports now emerge after the Phoenix Suns’ first-round exit of Durant feeling uncomfortable playing with Booker and Beal. As this news broke after the Suns’ exit, NBA fans have not taken it kindly. See how they reacted to it below.

At age 35, the ex-NBA MVP has limited options to switch teams. He has two more years left in his contract with the Suns which would pocket him more than $100 million. Durant is no stranger to switching teams. Therefore, a trade could be in the works this off-season.
