“With the best Featherweight in the World,” says Khabib Nurmagomedov as he posts a picture with Zabit Magomedsharipov
Khabib Nurmagomedov the recently retired UFC lightweight champion started a wave of Twitter banter and trolls after his recent tweet. Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the sport officially and has decided to focus his career on coaching his teammates. ‘The Dagestani’ been backing his teammates for a while now.
Khabib has previously said that he would like to devote his life to making champions of the people that helped him become one. Most of the fighters that Nurmagomedov is training or working with are his fellow countrymen from Dagestan. Dagestani fighters are known to be elite in the sport of MMA.
In a recent tweet, Khabib Nurmagomedov posted a picture of him and Zabit Magomedsharipov. The former UFC undefeated lightweight champion captioned the picture saying, “With best Featherweight in the World.” This tweet rattled the MMA twitter questioning Khabib’s bias.
Is Zabit Magomedsharipov the best featherweight fighter?
It is sure that Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway, and Patricio Freire are somewhere reporting that tweet. Zabit Magomedsharipov has had a total of 6 fights in the octagon. The Dagestani is 18-1-0 in his MMA career. He is riding on a 14-fight consecutive winning streak.
The fighter last competed in 2019 against Calvin Kattar. Zabit turned out victorious as he defeated Kattar via a unanimous decision. Magomedsharipov also has wins over fighters like Jeremey Stephens, Brandon Davis, and Kyle Bochniak. After Khabib posted his tweet, UFC fans trolled the former lightweight champion by replying to him.
Though Zabit has had success inside the octagon he has not fought for a long time on account of several repeated cancellations and pullouts. Do you think Zabit has the kind of credibility to be the best fighter in the featherweight division as claimed by Khabib Nurmagomedov?
