The Bloodline saga was undeniably one of the best stories in WWE history. Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania and finally put an end to his 1316-day title run. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was quite satisfied with how the storyline played out.
While speaking on the Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medalist talked about Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ rivalry and The Rock‘s involvement. He liked how WWE was able to include The Great One in their rivalry and make it even better. However, at one point, he thought Rocky would dethrone The Tribal Chief.
Kurt Angle further added that WWE’s idea of changing things on its head and turning The Rock heel was brilliant. Rocky’s transformation into a heel completely reshaped the company’s landscape, marked by his profanity-filled promos and evil deeds. He wrestled in his first match in 8 years, where he defeated Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes on Night 1 of WrestleMania XL.
You know what? It was really cool. I really enjoyed how they were able to intermingle the Rock into the storyline. I thought The Rock was going to come back and beat Roman Reigns for the world title. I don't know if they changed things because they were listening to the fans or whatever, but Rock turning heel was geniusKurt Angle via The Kurt Angle Show
Although the match between The Brahma Bull and Reigns didn’t happen at this year’s WrestleMania, that is surely a possibility in the future. He has already expressed his desire to perform at WrestleMania 41. If the cousins collide at the Show of Shows, it won’t be wrong to say that it will be the biggest match in history.
Kurt Angle wants to work with AEW wrestlers Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay
Kurt Angle has had many classic matches with legendary opponents like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. However, if he had still been an active performer, he would’ve liked to face Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay.
In the same podcast, he showered praise on both wrestlers for their outrageous in-ring skills.
The Hall of Famer labeled them as two of the greatest professional wrestlers of recent times. However, this is not the first time Angle has praised The Cleaner.
They could have possibly the greatest match of all time if they haven't already. Those two together, you know, those are the two guys that today if I were still wrestling I would love to wrestle. Kenny's always been my favorite but Will is really incredible too. My hat goes off to both of those guys.Kurt Angle via The Kurt Angle Show
The Olympic gold medalist competed in many promotions, like WWE, TNA, and even NJPW. He retired in 2019, unfortunately losing his last match against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35.
