Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson has claimed he has too much commitment to cater to; hence Tony Stewart’s SRX Series has revolutionized short-track racing. Larson, one of his generation’s most elite stock car racers, got multiple offers to race in the series but had to refuse them due to scheduling conflicts.

The SRX series has featured some of the biggest names in NASCAR. 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski is a full-time driver. He is joined by veterans Ryan Newman and Stewart himself. Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Kevin Harvick have made multiple starts this season alongside a few more Cup regulars.

For Larson, the Thursday Night Thunder race is not at all on his radar, but he said he might race in the series one day in the future. He added that, at the moment, he has no intentions to run in the event and is fully focused on his other NASCAR and non-NASCAR race ventures.

I mean, it’s not on my radar at all right now. I’m so busy doing everything that I do outside of NASCAR that I really don’t have time for it. But I’ll never say never. Right now, I haven’t really thought about it. They’ve asked me to run a handful, it just never seems to work out. So yeah…” Larson told Frontstretch.
