Team Penske Racing veteran Joey Logano won the 2024 NASCAR championship in an impressive fashion, outracing Ryan Blaney and William Byron at Phoenix. He became the most accomplished active driver in the garage, after clinching the third championship and marked his name in the history books.
But not everyone is happy with Joey Logano’s championship win, as he has the worst stat of any previous Cup winner and many in the racing community has branded the win as lucky. But ex-racer Kyle Petty isn’t buying these claims and pointed out that Logano survived 36 races and earn the tile despite being the oldest driver in the finale.
He went on to highlight how Joey Logano has separated himself from his fellow drivers Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson, with the title win. Petty asserted that the No:22 Ford driver deserves the title win and the credit for it.
NASCAR insider claims the season finale lacked the excitement
Senior NASCAR Journalist Jeff Gluck talked about the atmosphere in the season finale at Phoenix, pointed out that the garage lacked excitement of a finale race. He pointed out that it was really wired and admitted that something was really missing at the moment.
The garage seems tense over the charter wars with 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports suing NASCAR claiming monopoly. There seems a hostility on the garage over the lawsuit and it will be interesting how it will playout in the future.
