Gary Payton thinks that there is no player as cold and Larry Bird, and LeBron James seems to agree with the former NBA Super Sonic’s. Besides Michael Jordan, Larry Bird is counted amongst the ruthless trash talkers in NBA history.

The NBA has seen many players who are great at trash talking and ones that are great at bragging. Players are often seen promoting a fight by talking rubbish to each other that simply counts as unprofessionalism in the game of basketball.
Larry Bird is a legend in the game of basketball, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. The former Celtics is a three-time NBA champion who played 13 seasons of his entire career in the NBA.
The 12-time NBA All-Star has a record of three consecutive MVP awards along with two final MVP awards. He is even a “Hall of Famer”, and is also honoured as one of the 75 greatest players of all time. Despite his greatest achievements, Larry Bird is also criticized for his brutal trash talks in the NBA.

Garry Payton calls Larry Bird the “coldest” and LeBron James is highly convinced of the same
It was the premiere episode of “Uninterrupted‘s” show “Throwing Bones” where Garry Payton admitted that Larry Bird is one of the coldest due he’s ever seen. He also claimed that Bird is one of the greatest trash talkers in the league’s history. Payton also reflected on how trash-talking is a vital part of the NBA itself.
Following how it affected him, Payton said “I like people that talk sh*t to me, cause it is what it is. Me, I don’t hold no grudges. I ain’t got no feelings about it. It makes me even better. You know what I’m saying? Cause If you were with my mama last night and my wife, I was with yours too..”
Remarking on Larry Bird and his trash talk in the league, Payton said “Let me tell y’all something, Bird used to tell me ‘Look here man, I’m gonna go shoot this moth**f**in jumper in your face right here in that corner, and it’s gonna be your Christmas present. I’m gonna wrap it up and bust yo head open’ and all that sh*t. He was the coldest dude I ever seen with that sh*t man.”
It seems that LeBron James totally agrees with Garry Payton’s comments on Larry Bird. Following the same video, LeBron James went on his Instagram handle and shared the same to his story quoting “YES HE WAS!!”.
We cannot agree with LeBron James more. Larry Bird is certainly one of the biggest trash talkers in the NBA history and also one of the “coldest” players to ever play. Though his cruel style of playing Larry has given enough inspiring millions and it is his greatness that would remain alive in the hearts of many across the world.
