James stumbled on an Alligator encounter

There is no stopping LeBron James at the moment. He has been an unstoppable force ever since the playoffs got underway. James was at his very best in Game 3 as he led the Lakers to a 112-108 overtime victory over the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center on Friday night. The win gave the Lakers a 3-0 lead in the series.

With 25 seconds left on the clock, the Rockets were leading 101-98. James tapped the ball away from Reed Sheppard while playing full-court defense.

With 14 seconds to go, James made a three-pointer to level the score at 101-101. It was a wild sequence of events at the end of regulation time till James came up clutch.

With Luka Doncic ruled out for the series and Austin Reaves yet to make an appearance in the first round, there have been doubts about whether a 41-year-old LeBron James could carry them against the Rockets. However, James has proven them wrong.

Being the number one option, James is back in a role that he is accustomed to. Heading into the postseason, James had his lowest scoring season, tied with his rookie year. He was averaging 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in 60 appearances.

However, with the Lakers missing their two primary scorers, James has shouldered the scoring and ball-handling duties. In Game 4, he had a double-double as he ended his night with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. He even had three steals and a block, which shows that he was active on the defensive end as well.

The Lakers are just one win away from a spot in the Western Conference Semifinals. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant has missed his second game in this series, which has been a huge concern for the Rockets this series.

LeBron James on the challenge of playing without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves

It was never going to be easy for the Lakers to play the first round of the playoffs without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. While James has shown that he can do more than just steady the ship, he does have to exert a lot more energy, which could drain him as the playoffs progress.

After the win, James spoke about the challenges of playing in the playoffs without their two key players.

It’s very challenging. We’ve built our team the way we wanted to play throughout the course of the season. The last week of the season the last thing you want is two of your best players going down, it was a shift for all of us. It’s challenging for all of us. It’s challenging for me, Marcus, for Luke, everybody. Bronny stepping in and playing meaningful minutes.
