It is always a spectacle to see big men step out of their conventional roles and score a touchdown or two in the NFL. In today’s New York Jets vs. Seattle Seahawks matchup, history was made by a big man after a remarkable defensive play by him. It was none other than defensive end Leonard Williams.
As the Jets led 21-7 in the first half, Aaron Rodgers hoped to extend that lead as he threw a pass to Garrett Wilson over the middle except Leonard Williams anticipated the ball heading in Wilson’s direction and picked him off.
Now one would expect that a man weighing 300 pounds would be accustomed to manhandling and throwing players on their backs. However, Leonard Williams proved to the world today that he is called ‘Big Cat’ for a reason.

Leonard Williams clocked in at 17.84 mph on his way to score
There was just a player of the Jets in the defensive end’s way. His attempt to tackle Williams failed and after that, the road was clear. The big man gracefully ran toward the endzone after securing the second interception of his career and the first return touchdown.
His teammates were right behind him blocking the paths of Jets players but after a point, the hosts understood there was no stopping Leonard Williams. It was amazing to see that a man of his stature could move like that. To run 17.84 mph and take off immediately like that, is something only the defensive end can do.
With this touchdown, Leonard Williams broke the record for the longest pick-six by a big man. This play left Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets speechless as they were helpless. The quarterback has been doing his best to put the team on his back including being the lead blocker for the offense. Williams’ pick-six resulted in a morale boost for the Seahawks.
