Logan Paul vs. John Cena was one of the most anticipated matches on the Clash in Paris card. Despite initial skepticism around this feud, it resulted in Cena having arguably his greatest non-stipulated singles match in the last 7-8 years. But, as they say, it takes two to tango. In that regard, ‘The Maverick’ is equally responsible for making that happen.
Moreover, the Westlake-born star has reflected on locking horns with the 17-time world champion in what Paul described as the peak of pro wrestling for him. Taking to X, the former US Champion extolled Cena for being an absolute mastermind of this business.
The co-founder of PRIME compared Cena’s wrestling craft to Pablo Picasso and stated that the Peacemaker star is better inside that ring than Picasso was with his paint and brushes.
‘The Maverick’ got his shoulders pinned to the mat even after putting up the fight of his life. Addressing his loss, the 30-year-old said he came out of Paris with more victories despite the results showing otherwise. Since making his in-ring debut for WWE at WrestleMania 38, the social media megastar has had a grand total of 24 matches for the company.

I wanted a match with John Cena to prove that I not only belong in the business but can bring the best out of the business. Mission accomplished. For me, last night was peak professional wrestling

The numbers don’t tell the exact story, as Paul has troubled the likes of Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio, and many other top stars in the meantime. Cena bluntly told Paul to his face on SmackDown before Clash in Paris to unleash his A-game or else he’d be in for a long night. The ‘Babe Ruth of WWE’ also made his foe realize that he may not make it beyond those 20-odd matches if the fans don’t consider him worthy enough to have a job at WWE.
John Cena continued his praise of Logan Paul after the Clash in Paris PLE
While John Cena may have left Logan Paul speechless every time they verbally jousted with each other on the mic, the 48-year-old has all the respect in the world for ‘The Maverick’ when it comes to his in-ring abilities. The Hollywood mogul reaffirmed his approval for the IMPAULSIVE host during the Clash in Paris post-show alongside Big E and Jackie Redmond.

Recalling that edition of SmackDown in Toronto where Paul answered Cena’s open challenge, the Heads of State actor said it reminded him of the time he decided to slap Kurt Angle in the face in June 2002. The rest is history. Furthermore, Cena reaffirmed the requisites of being successful in pro wrestling, which can only be attained by dedicating one’s heart and soul to this business.

That’s something Cena stressed upon in his criticism of Paul during their promo battles in recent weeks. ‘The Franchise Player’ would continue insinuating that Paul is not fully committed to WWE and is coasting off his billion-dollar outside ventures. Apart from that, Cena, during the aforementioned post-show, said some people may not like ‘The Maverick’, but he has to put some respect on his name.
John Cena told Logan Paul his influence is waning after the top 25 influencers snub
A list of 25 of the most popular social media influencers was recently published by Rolling Stone. Logan Paul didn’t find a place on that, which was brought up by John Cena during their last faceoff before colliding at Clash in Paris. IShowSpeed, who topped that list, reacted to the segment by thanking Cena for the shoutout but was visibly surprised by Paul not making the cut.

‘The Cenation Leader’ concluded from above that The Maverick’s influence was dwindling and he’s scrambling for new revenue streams. This was Cena’s response to Paul claiming that he was influential in bringing WWE to Netflix and helping the pro wrestling juggernaut strike a landmark agreement with ESPN‘s direct-to-consumer service for live streaming of WWE PLEs.
Slated for September 20, Wrestlepalooza is going to be the first WWE premium live event on ESPN as part of their $1.6 billion deal. It would be interesting to see if Paul gets to compete that night or not. As of now, that doesn’t seem likely as he’s expected to go on a brief hiatus.
