Becky Lynch has been absent from WWE since her loss against Liv Morgan in the Steel Cage match on an episode of Raw after the King and Queen of the Ring PLE. Recently, The Man shared a cryptic post on social media, hinting that she would be stepping away from wrestling for good. There’s a significant update regarding her future with WWE amid swirling rumors of her retirement.

According to the latest report from Fightful Select, Becky Lynch hadn’t informed WWE about her retirement. She took to X and shared a post after her documentary as a WWE legend was released. The Man expressed that it had been a ‘helluva career,’ but she saw being a mother to her child as a privilege. Her contract expired on June 1, right after losing to Liv Morgan on the May 27 episode of Raw.

It is believed that Lynch could announce her retirement without the company knowing if she wanted to do so. Currently, WWE is respecting her space by allowing her to take time away from wrestling. It was also noted that the 37-year-old star is always welcome back into the Stamford-based company. Fans didn’t want to believe her post, as she is at the peak of her career and there is still so much for her to accomplish in the business.

Speaking about her run in 2024, she challenged Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title at WrestleMania XL but unfortunately lost. After Mami had to relinquish her title due to a shoulder injury, Becky captured the vacant title and held it until May, when she lost it to Morgan due to some shenanigans from Dominik Mysterio. Fans are eagerly clamoring for her return to the ring.

Vince Russo believes Becky Lynch should be upset about Lyra Valkyria’s booking

Lyra Valkyria was one of the top NXT stars who got called up to the main roster in May. She was seen as the next Becky Lynch in many fans’ eyes and was pushed like that, reaching the Queen of the Ring final by defeating established stars like Iyo Sky. However, since then, the Irish star hasn’t been properly used on Raw. Wrestling veteran Vince Russo believed that Valkyria’s treatment would infuriate her mentor.

While speaking on the Legion of RAW podcast, Russo believed that the 27-year-old star’s booking negatively impacted The Man’s brand. Valkyria dethroned Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship last year at Halloween Havoc. When she was called up to the main roster, she saved her mentor from an attack by Damage CTRL.

If I am Becky Lynch, I'm saying why did you have me endorse her if you're gonna do absolutely nothing with her? That brings down my brand, that brings down my brand.

Right now, Valkyria is in a three-way rivalry, with Kayden Carter and Katana Chance as her partners. The teams of Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler, as well as Damage CTRL, are all aiming to take the tag titles from The Witches. On the July 22 episode of Raw, she suffered a loss in a singles match against Deville.
