Martina Navratilova has taken a stern stand against a proposed bill in Germany’s parliament seeking to make pedophilia a protected s*xual identity. The proposed move by the parliament has sparked concerns from child safeguarding advocates in the country.

Germany’s parliament has been seeking ways to adjust its laws to suit all parties in the public. In May, the parliament softened its laws against child pornography, which caught the attention of many worldwide. It lowered the prison sentence of anyone caught in possession of child pornography from one year to three months, while those caught distributing the material will serve only six months.

Despite the enraged public views, a lobby group, Krumme-13, submitted a proposed amendment seeking to add language to the constitution that would establish pedophilia as a protected s*xual identity. According to Reduxx, Krumme-13 has continued to pressure the government to normalize pedophilia for several years.
